Linus, creator of Linux, being “woke” as heck. Win.

Respect to Linus for the stance. Bigots have no place in any of my communities either.

@gamingonlinux So, anybody who disagrees with the government on anything should be excluded from society?

Why not exclude the mass murderers of the government from society instead?

@Nobody @gamingonlinux I’m not sure if you’re aware, but the Linux kernel is not actually a government agency

@timmy @gamingonlinux

I have been hacking Linux since the 1990's.

The point is that the government and their stenographers in the media ... the Establishment, we used to call it ... now call all dissent racism.

Even dissenting against Nazi projects like forcing unwilling people to participate in medical experiments.

@Nobody @gamingonlinux who in this scenario is doing this? Linus Torvalds? GamingOnLinux? Who are you mad at?

@timmy @gamingonlinux It is being done all over.

First they justify violence against Nazis ... then they define everybody who disagrees with them as Nazis. If you have not noticed, open your eyes and pay attention.

@Nobody @gamingonlinux can you define “they” as you use it here?

@timmy @gamingonlinux

Establishment loving sheep.

@Nobody @gamingonlinux take a look at yourself, you’re flying off the handle because Linus Torvalds said he’s fine with some really uncontroversial things. You then brought up “nazi medical experiments” which I assume is something about the Covid vaccine, which no one else brought up. You’re the one uncritically buying into an ideology here

@timmy @gamingonlinux

Yes, the ideology of freedom is very important.

That's why I moved to New Hampshire. Their motto is "Live Free or Die'.

Comes from a quote: "Live Free or Die; Death is Not the Worst of Evils".

What is the worst of evils?

Slavery is the worst of evils.

By the way, one does not "uncritically" break with the brainwashing of the establishment. One breaks with the brainwashing of the establishment by being critical.

@Nobody I’m not sure what your great rebellion is, so far you’ve gotten red, mad, and nude online over Linus expressing his opinion. What freedom is that?
@timmy @Nobody dude's PFP has the word libertarian in it, I think we can all make a few assumptions just based off that

@Leroy @timmy

We can assume that I do not go along with the crowd, and that I think that giving one corporation a licence to kill, making it answerable only to itself, and allowing it to force unwilling people to buy it's worthless products through violence and threats of violence.

@Nobody @timmy you never finished your thought there. Also, no that's not the list of pretty reasonable assumptions people make about libertarians

@Leroy @timmy

Those are the reasonable ones.

But the psychopaths who run the government and the public schools encourage you to make many unreasonable ones.

They can't let you think that there is actually an alterantive to being owned by the mass murdering psychopaths who murdered a million people in Iraq, and didn't have the decency to say "OOOps, our bad!".

@Nobody @timmy I think most reasonable people don't want anything to do with the US government/military without having to be libertarians.

@Leroy @timmy

It's not just the US government. Every government is murderous psychopaths.

That's why they chose a business where you can threaten violence against those who refuse to pay for your mass murder sprees.

And a government that does not enslave and murder is no government at all.

@Nobody @timmy you're not mad at governments you're mad at capitalism

@Leroy @timmy

Capitalism is just free markets and the right to own property, by my definition.

I am mad at the government, which is that organization which claims a monopoly on the use of force in any given jurisdiction, and enforces that monopoly through terrorism.

@Nobody @timmy your definition is entirely wrong then

You're correct about monopoly on violence being bad, but your definition of capitalism is completely wrong

@Leroy @timmy

Those are the essential characteristics.

I'm not sure what freedom is called in Leftist.

The alternative, having a government thumb on every scale, is infinitely worse than freedom.

@Nobody @timmy free markets don't exist. without regulations, the people who control certain markers can use their money to create regulations that make it easier for them to keep their money and harder for others to compete with them. Governments of capitalist countries purposefully don't put a stop to this because they get most of their money from billionaires and their lobbyists

@Leroy @timmy

Free markets do not exist, because of regulations and regulators.

For example, the US market is not free. That's why the FBI drove a tank into my house.

I was selling cryptocurrency.

The banks want their monopoly enforced, so they can continue to milk us like cattle.

So they sent their hired thugs to "regulate" me.

@Nobody @timmy would you prefer your competitor drive a tank through your house rather than the people that already did? The only difference between what we have now and what you describe as the free market is who the one doing the regulation is

@Leroy @timmy

War is not economically efficient.

The only reason that "regulation" is profitable is because those who benefit from it ( "the establishment" ) can use government to force somebody else to pay for it.

In a free market, they would have to pay for their own mayhem. And we would be free to hire defenders that would actually defend us from them, instead of defending them from us.

@Nobody @timmy in a "free market" the only thing that changes is which artificially labeled group of people is doing the regulating. A truly free market does not exist

@Leroy @timmy

If it existed, I would be trading in it, instead of on strike.

Regulators are easy to identify. If you make a transaction, and you are happy, and the other party is happy, but some 3rd party comes in and violates both of your rights because they don't like the transaction that has nothing to do with them, those are the regulators.

One could also say "Karens".
