Bah! Did some work for a US based non-profit and they're just not paying me.

They first said they could *only* pay by cheque!
(Utterly impossible for me to cash into my UK bank accounts.)

Then they agreed to pay into my Wise ACH account.
But their supplier platform wouldn't accept my UK address or phone number.

And now they're just ignoring me.

*sigh*

It's only US$250, so not the end of the world. But so dispiriting that they would treat their suppliers so poorly.

The banking system in NA is so broken, it's even worse in Canada
If you have a friend in the US, have them write a check to the friend then the friend would then EFT the money to you

@samir it is amazing how much crypto hype is driven by the moribund US banking system.
Africa has had m-pesa for decades.

@Edent yes!
A lot of my friends ask me if there are any benefits to crypto (besides scams and money laundering), and yes, it does solve a huge problem for countries like Canada. We have a monopoly here, I cannot even send money to another Canadian account without going into a bank to send wire (or mail a cheque)
Even Wise doesn't work here, I have to jump through hoops to use it
