For a time, they fought the good fight — but not any more

@dangillmor @caseynewton could someone ask Musk and co why so much energy has to used to refute obvious "amplification" of lies and conspiracies?

This is becoming an increasing task for journalists and others, consuming time, energy and resources, and it is exactly what the amplifiers want.
@dangillmor @caseynewton And worse, they’re not even a little bit concerned about the appearances or consequences. It’s a kind of collective cultural arrogance and conformity I can’t think of any precedent for, with the possible exception of the Nazi-cowed industrialists in the mid 1930s. We have a big problem.
@caseynewton @dangillmor really it just all comes down to the country forgetting why we use to tax the hell out of the rich & use to have safeguards on the power of private capital or as FDR called them “Economic Royalists”
@dangillmor @caseynewton Do you really want Elon Musk to have right to decide who is “serious” candidate for presidency and who is just a clown spreading nonsense? Really?
