So it's now official. I'll be serving as the new organizer of IntroComp. https://introcomp.org/

If you're unfamiliar with #IntroComp it's a low-pressure contest where folks can submit interactive fiction story excerpts and get feedback on them. Stories that get completed within a year of the contest are eligible for prizes based on public voting.

If you've been looking for an excuse to learn how to write interactive fiction, this is it. Have questions? Need help? Please just ask me!

IntroComp

Home of IntroComp, an annual interactive fiction competition where participants develop excerpts of interactive fiction, gain feedback from audience reactions, and hopefully use this feedback to release a final product.

@Feneric Hola, Feneric, question I couldn't find an answer for on the site -- are there content limitations/guidelines for entries? Yes, I mean Horny Stuff.
@palecur You're the first to ask me this question, and I've pinged past organizers because I want to preserve the guidelines that have been in effect for the past 20+ years of the contest. That being said, IntroComp tends to have a lower barrier to entry than something like IFComp, and I know kids do read the IntroComp stories, so we'd have to find some way of marking things appropriately if less family-friendly entries have been being allowed.
@palecur One other possibility is that since an IntroComp entry is an excerpt from a story rather than a whole story, that excerpt could focus more on the tamer parts of the story and stick to the suggestive rather than the explicit, even if the intent were to make the final complete version much less tame. I do want to consult with past organizers though to keep consistent with prior years, and I'll let you know the results.
