@IoanSaid Someone I knew (briefly) said they did it. I was never interested enough to ask, and neither were any of the others (as far as I know).

Nice way to get pocket money, or put aside for his future e.g. education or housing. And costs of sporting endeavours can mount up for parents of talented youngsters taking them to competitions as they climb ever further up the ladder, especially if sponsorship is thin on ground.
