Podcasters! Is there a simple way to synchronise 3 separate WAV-files? We are three people recording separately via Audio Hijack and I use Audition to edit them. I found a ffmpeg-script to synchronize them into one file, but I still want them separate to deal with crosstalk etc. I could do it in Premiere, but there must be something better, no? An app? Script? Anyone? #podcasting #adobeAudition
@jeroen Are you asking how to sync up three separate audio tracks?
@CrackedWindscreen Yes.
For background: We used to record our podcast with Zencastr and those files are all synchronised when you download them. Recently, we started doing what I believe is called a ”Double ender” and record our files locally with Audio Hijack. But then the files all start a bit different (however we clap to get something to sync on). So: Audition doesn’t have a sync function as Premiere does, I wonder if there is some other way to sync them.

@jeroen Right, gotcha. Ok. Yeah I sync mine manually, we press record at the same time on our own laptops, or as close to is as that, and I line them up for editing after. We also use Streamyard as our video calling app and that records the audio for each person separately too if we need the backup.

I've not seen an automation of that, but then i've not really looked. Sorry I can't be of help. Will boost it though as someone must know something.

@CrackedWindscreen OK, we’ll be more thorough with when we start. Thanks for the tip!

@jeroen No problem. I don't know if you're recording at each of your ends too. What we do is count down to pressing record so we do it at the same time. That might work for your situation. Then you're only dealing with a fraction of a second or two in lining up, minimising the messing around.

Best of luck with it!
