@elduvelle
I think of myself as left, I could be what’s considered far left, it’s not entirely clear what the delineation is.

To me “left” means socialized medicine, solid social safety nets, subsidized university, that sort of thing.

@bigheadtales @elduvelle

Do you support the complete dismantlement of all current systems of exploitation? Including capitalism? Congratulations, welcome to the far left.

@atatassault @elduvelle
I don’t mind capitalism as long as it’s regulated within a social democratic structure.

Pure capitalism is nothing but fascism in a suit.

@bigheadtales @atatassault @elduvelle Capitalism has nothing to do with fascism. Unregulated "wild" capitalism is certainly very bad, it leads to oligarchy and autocracy, but fascism is just wrong word. Please don't use that word as a synonym to "bad" or "oppressive", it has more specific meaning.

@bjeelka @atatassault @elduvelle
I disagree, fascism is a form of authoritarian government where the government leadership enriches themselves by subverting the population, controlling resources and markets (often by force) and giving preferential, even monopoly treatment to rich, loyal benefactors.

I would argue that fascism is the natural evolution of unregulated capitalism.

@bigheadtales @atatassault @elduvelle This is NOT the definition of fascism.
@bjeelka @atatassault @elduvelle
Please correct me then. Give me your definition.

@bjeelka
That's a fair definition from a philosophical point of view, but it leaves out the exploitation by the authoritarian leadership of rich business interests for profit.

Suggest you do some reading as to how Hitler and the Nazis relied upon support from rich businesses in return for preferential government treatment.

Still, I will take your comments into my thinking.

@bigheadtales Yeah, but pretty much all regimes do that to some extent. All political systems rely on large busyness support, democratic, autocratic, all forms of anocracies and hybrid regimes do that, and fascist totalitarian regimes not an exception. Even regimes that call themselves socialist do that, for example our Ukrainian oligarchs are actually originated in late soviet "red executives" system - the corruption-based monopolies, half-state, half-quazi-private.

@bjeelka @bigheadtales @elduvelle

Capitalism is an authoritarian consolidation of power in the form of money. Capitalism and Fascism go hand in hand.

@atatassault @bigheadtales @elduvelle That's not a definition of capitalism either.

@bjeelka @bigheadtales @elduvelle

>That's not a definition of capitalism either.

You don't even understand the difference between a definition and a description (the latter of which is what I used). I gave you a chance, a benefit of the doubt, but you continued to prove yourself to be a dumbass conservative troll. Bye Felicia.

@atatassault @bigheadtales @elduvelle
Nobody on the left wants to destroy Capitaism. They just want rules of the road. Same accusations of fear by the Radical Relious Right.
@GatekeepKen @atatassault @bigheadtales @elduvelle Nobody who falls under the category of "left" does, no, but that's what the category of "far left" is for, they definitely do. They pretty much don't exist in any great numbers in the US which is why normal lefties are often called "far left" by the extreme right.
@StarkRG @atatassault @bigheadtales @elduvelle
So who's side are you on.
StarkRG (@[email protected])

@[email protected] In the US I'd be very far left, just about everywhere else in the world I'm moderate left. I'm not sure I consider anyone who doesn't want to abolish most private ownership to be "far left". I don't think there's too much need for private vehicles anymore, but I'm still a fan of most private ownership. I'm even a fan of limited private enterprise, so there's no way I could be considered "far left".
