@lunarboy @marlies @pschiller surprised it’s 20 years old.
@ppn @pschiller it seems like a safe bet there will be a base/SE later. Other Pro products are priced 2X-7X base. $500-$1200 seems reasonable given the capabilities.
Apple values supporting hardware many years. It feels like the Watch launch hardware held the platform back. To me, launching Vision with Pro flips that & the high price signals this is for developers.
Versace VE2166 Aviator… I bet Vision looks closer to this in a few years (or Doc Browns metal shades from Back to the Future)
@pschiller That was absolutely awesome!! Congrats on the launch!
Obviously I have my criticisms (such as no one will keep that thing on their head on their daughters birthday like suggested and I definitely don’t want a virtual persona that looks like real me at all (really, memoji would unironically be better - or a personalizable persona)), but visionOS looks stunning, the AR stuff is awesome, the whole UI and all the different features announced today… just woah! It really is so much better than any expectations I had! Really excited to try it out someday!!
(Also I do hope we can link it to a computer and run VR apps/games on it (maybe with vr controller support since not all would support gestures) (and hopefully somehow not limited to macOS, being usable on Linux too (ha, one can hope!))
