@stoicmike Lots of people in data science having an each-way bet, I think. They'll post here because there's now a sizeable community in the fediverse. But they're not prepared to cut the cord and leave twitter, because their posts do numbers on twitter. That's the behaviour I'm starting to find a bit... suspect. Community leaders who have always considered themselves progressive, but can't quite make themselves walk out of a place that is very rapidly becoming a full-on Nazi bar... 😔

@stoicmike I tend to agree. I don't think that sentiment has quite percolated out to my community yet. I think a lot of people still feel like it's just another social media network that maybe is a bit less pleasant than it once was. The whole "no, it's becoming Gab 2.0, and you've now become like those dudes who hold business meetings in strip clubs and can't work out why there are no women there" thing hasn't quite sunk in yet, I'm afraid
