i occasionally remind people that the power holders largely believe christ will not return to Earth until we use up all its resources and they look at me like im making shit up but then occasionally we get to see it in headline form
@nutsling one of the most important things to know about evangelical politics imo, but they stopped saying it constantly on public access tv shows so a lot of people don't know anymore
@nutsling all of this so like 20 billionaires can make more money

@nutsling these religious loons have been spouting this gibberish for decades. To paraphrase Ronald Reagan’s Secretary of the Interior, James Watt:

…the second coming may be at hand, but we have a lot of money to make until then…

@nutsling then why stop abortions? Or drugs? Or euthanasia? Or drinking and driving? Why even bother with government?
@nutsling I feel safe in saying that no one named "Ramaswamy" will "win WH" anytime soon in this political climate 😅
@nutsling his wiki says he is Hindu. I’m not an expert but if you believe in reincarnation wouldn’t you want the earth to be nice in the future?
@nutsling The US already has too many political power holders that do not have first (and often not even secondary) loyalty to the United States.
@nutsling “Fuck it. The meek are going to inherit this place anyway.”
@nutsling @anildash I don't know why YouTube thought I might be interested in this after I watched a video by @rebeccawatson, but check-out this psychopath in _What Can I Do if My Adult Kids No Longer Believe?_ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InpFGVgUogQ The obvious answer is to respect their decision and continue to love them, but nope at 5:36 tip #3 is hope your kid gets cancer or their career falls apart

@nutsling
Pretty sure you don't get to go to the fun afterlife if you wreck life for everyone else.

@nutsling

Regular reminder that atheists murder as many people as they want, which is typically zero, while religious people apparently wish they could do horrible things if there were no all-powerful overseer preventing them.

Interesting.

The above post was in reply to a post by someone whose home Mastodon instance claims to be an "unstoppable shitposting engine".

That post was about someone on Fox essentially talking about Christian leaders wanting to consume the Earth's resources until the apocalypse (or rapture??).

I reply with the above (c.f. Penn Jillette). Then they reply "gtfoh with your shit reframing, idiot".

Their profile claims they are a Christian.

I really think they were having a bad day.
