Today was the 19th Annual #HikeTheHeights event in #WashingtonHeights / #Inwood #NYC to raise awareness of the neglected state of #HighbridgePark in Upper #Manhattan :: its been succeeding- the bike/pedestrian bridge that brought freshwater and fueled the growth of NYC #CrotonAqueduct has been restored. 12 groups hiked dozens of miles uptown then had an #UptownDreamers mc’d party at the end.

@kristenrapp Highbridge -- the bridge itself -- has the amazing little history plates that tell you about its building and how that changed the course of NYC. 100% worthwhile. Oldest bridge to Manhattan... and the only one where its just people on foot and on bike.
