I like my local DIY store. Had a brief "discussion" with an employee today if I should buy a laser cutter or a dremel. We agreed that a laser cutter is more fun and an appropriate tool for my project, but the fact that it is the size of a desk instead of the size of a toothbrush and about 2000x the price made the dremel win. (Also, before that, he gave actual useful advice.)
