"Let’s imagine there was a social network called BigotFeed.

It caters toward and kowtows to Far-Right extremists & hate-filled podcasters. It is owned by a billionaire who is vocally hostile toward the entire concept of journalism and also certain minorities. ...the primary function of BigotFeed is to drive more people toward hatred, close-mindedness, and the reign of the Republican Party...

Is that enjoyable to journalists? What are you doing there?" #Twitter https://jogblog.substack.com/p/why-are-journalists-still-on-twitter?utm_source=cross-post&publication_id=1053124&post_id=125525300&isFreemail=true&utm_campaign=2282&utm_medium=email

Why Are Journalists Still on Twitter?

A question for the times (and the Times)

JOG Blog
@GottaLaff They are still there because they are comfortable with their 10,000 followers and don’t want to rebuild. Also, they just want to be heard, they don’t want to listen, and really don’t want to interact with “commoners.”
@AlliFlowers @GottaLaff no one with 10,000 followers cares about what any of them says. See also: politicians.
@OGjester I have nearly 60,000 followers over there and I care. @AlliFlowers
@GottaLaff @AlliFlowers I would speculate you’re in the minority in that way. Good on you, though! Seems like you’re in it for the right reasons.
@OGjester Thanks. I don't use Twitter other than to reply or get news/threads from accounts that aren't here. But until Muskrat came along, I was VERY active. @AlliFlowers
@GottaLaff Same. And I miss my follows there, but it’s their choice. @OGjester
