Finally beat Quackshot on the #SegaGenesis so at least something good came out of me having COVID...
@cgquarterly definitely a top tier Mega Drive game for me
@BillyCupid I definitely agree! I don't know why this game doesn't get talked about more.

@cgquarterly same! Maybe because it’s not as immediate as things like Castle or Illusion? I don’t know, but whatever the reason it’s a shame.

I was lucky enough my friend had it back in the day and it was always the game I wanted to lend when we swapped games (that or the original Streets Of Rage)

@BillyCupid @cgquarterly I can only speak for myself, but I'm someone who missed Quackshot back in the day (and still need to get to it).

Even as a non-Disney fan, I played Castle of Illusion due to the reputation it gained. Past that, though, there were just so many licensed games, and it wasn't always easy to know which ones to trust. And, for example, you might go into Fantasia having loved CoI, only to find it was terrible.

So, maybe it suffered due to the "16-bit licensed garbage" glut.

@mollipen @BillyCupid I definitely think that the stink of Fantasia has something to do with it. American gamers had no way of knowing that Fantasia wasn't the follow-up to CoI, but in Japan it was obvious (due to the name there) that Quackshot was the sequel to Castle.

@cgquarterly @BillyCupid I swear I always thought that World of Illusion came before Quackshot, but huh, I’ve been wrong all of this time.

I guess that helps to show how under the radar that game went back in the day. 😅

@cgquarterly Hope you're feeling better.
