Do you feel not human, or would you like to be not human, in some way? I am curious about your story!

  • What kind of being are you or so you want to be?

  • How did you realize this is what you are/want?

  • Can you express this side of you in daily life?

  • Do you feel this interacts with your gender?

  • How would you change the world to make it more suitable for yourself?

  • Anything else you would like to tell me?

  • @kescher sorry, this emojo is still broken after the disk crash :(
    @Vierkantor (ok but I'm asking IF)

    @kescher (until I got out my laptop, I literally could not see what you wrote beyond ":b" because my phone cuts off alt text to fit inside the picture...)

    yes, boosting is very OK! you may assume any of my posts that the interface allows you to boost are indeed OK to boost)

    @Vierkantor
    i'm a dragon
    i realized this as soon as i was exposed to other dragons. i've been exposed to many types of creatures generally but didn't really understand that i was a dragon until i interacted with them
    i am generally fairly open about being a dragon. i'm not sure to what extent people consider it a bit, but this is a thing
    my gender is dragon (+ girl)
    i would invent hrt that gives you dragon wings and a tail. also probably redesigning furniture and clothes to be friendly to wing havers at that point i guess

    I think I've been waiting for a post like this xD

    1. I'm a vampire!

    2. I realised through reading books/ watching shows with vampire characters and experiencing gender envy/wanting to "be" them.

    3. I wear fangs sometimes, I would have them permanently if I could. Also make jokes about myself (e.g. can't go in sunlight, need to be invited in, "I don't bite" etc). Sometimes I also wear clothes connected to it, e.g. Buffy merch.

    4. They're very very connected! My gender is vampire. I'm genderqueer, but "vampire" is a better way to describe it. Not having fangs makes me feel dysphoric, and wearing them makes me euphoric. Style wise, wearing darker/specific clothes is connected. As I said before, I have gender envy of specific vampire characters, (and named myself after one of them!) And using it/its pronouns as one of my pronoun sets is connected to being a vampire/creature too.

    5. I don't know. But I'd love the world to be less ableist and transphobic. Because feeling like a vampire is connected to gender but also connected to my special interests/being autistic. I think lots of trans neurodivergent people feel connected to creatures and are shamed for that.

    6. I also feel like a fairy! In a queer & androgynous way, and in a creature way. But I feel it less intensely than being a vampire. It's more of a thing that comes and goes depending on what I'm wearing or feeling, and less of an intrinsic identity.

    @Vierkantor I'm a wolf!

    I was a /massive/ egg, dreamed about being a wolf for /years/ but never knew it was like, a thing. When I found out that yes you can just like, be an animal... I was like HOLY SHIT THAT'S ME.

    and yeah on gender! I'm male in a wolf way, not in a human way. (I'm also nonbinary because of that.)

    ...side of me? It's not a "side of me", it's who I am. 🐺 But unfortunately no, there isn't really anything we can do in dirtspace for that.

    and for changing the world... just, in general, toss the humancentrism out the window. "Human rights"? No, I'm not human. Stuff like that.

    And just the general assumption that humans are Superior and everyone else isn't people. It's. Fucking. EVERYWHERE.

    @Vierkantor also, of course, physical transition would be nice :<

    transgender people are lucky. Species? There's nothing for that, and probably will never be anything for that.

    @Vierkantor even if it's hard to access gender transition stuff it's at least physically POSSIBLE, science-wise
    @IceWolf @Vierkantor I'm optimistic about synthetic bodies becoming a thing in a couple decades from now, *IF* humanity manages to not completely destroy its scientific capabilities until then. Unfortunately, that seems like a massive if.

    @LunaDragofelis @Vierkantor yeah that'd be cool!...IF it's "scoop out your brain and plop it in robot body's chest or whatever", /not/ "upload you to a computer", because that'd be a copy of me, not actual me (and what would happen to the rest of us? with scooping our brain out, we'll be safe).

    Unfortunately, with scifi trends...

    @IceWolf @Vierkantor I do believe that the mind/soul is an entity that can be meaningfully transferred between physical vessels, and that it continues to exist even if the body dies.
    @LunaDragofelis @Vierkantor meh. That might work for you, not for us.
    @LunaDragofelis @Vierkantor Even if you /can/ be transferred, that doesn't mean you can't /also/ be copied, and considering brain uploading doesn't inherently affect the original person/people...

    @Vierkantor hi, my name is tillian. i am a furry and i want to be an anthro fox. I think I realized this quite recently, a year ago, when I tried to imagine what would happen if I was like that, and...it felt so natural and euphoric. I think I almost cried, actually. I don't know why. but I am also sad about it because I know it's never going to happen. at least not in my lifetime.

    sometimes I express it in my daily life because I just like make vulpine noises and bark, squeak or gekker when I feel comfortable, lol.

    kind of does interact with gender but barely. I don't care if I am a fox guy or a vixen

    as for changing the world, that's a question that requires a long answer and I think it related not only to my otherkinness but me being marginalized in general.

    @Vierkantor and yeah. physical transition would be nice. but alas.
    @Vierkantor
    1. A plasmacat/meltcat, a catlike being that can turn liquid.
    2. By piecing together a theory from me wanting to be a catgirl, but not being able to decide on any single body configuration. (Wings? Modularity? Tail fin? Hermaphroditism?)
    3. With my mom and my best friend, as well as on fedi.
    4. Somewhat, yes.
    5. Invent synthetic modular bodies to transfer my soul into.
    6. meow
    @Vierkantor i always liked pretending to be a robot as a kid

    i spent most of ages 10-12 imagining myself (without actually showing or telling in any way) as some kind of alien infiltrating the earth as a child (this was many years before Invader Zim ever aired but the concept is similar just with a more ~advanced~ disguise and none of the cool handy gadgets, and any Gir analogue was purely explicitly an imagined construct)

    these days i don't have any particular desire to not be human, just a huge litany of real and perceived defects and flaws and inefficiencies that i wish i had the power to get rid of

    almost none of the ones that relate to my appearance are in themselves impossible of a standard IRL human being

    @Vierkantor

    I am Lyric, an ancient and eldritch evil that haunted the stars long before your species drew breath. I am part flesh, part machine, entirely cosmic and have far too many eyes.

    People have always described me as "an alien studying humans" due to my detachment, social difficulties, observation skills and unusual thought processes. I own this identity, often acting as a chaos gremlin in small and large ways to represent the immutable forces of entropy.

    @Vierkantor My gender is eldritch as well, and cannot be comprehended by the mortal mind. Even a glimpse has been known to drive men to madness.

    I am merely studying your world, not attempting to change it. I find species facing the adversity of inevitable extinction often produce works of great, despairing beauty. I am merely here to witness them.
