The more I hear about how Trump tried everything to hang onto top secret and other classified documents, the worse it looks for him.

Indict the man, Mr. Smith. He’s guilty at least of obstruction and willful retention of government documents.

@georgetakei I wonder if he is going to indict on both January 6th and espionage at the same time. He should subpoena Ted Cruz over that phone call too.

@georgetakei He's directly guilty of 18 U.S. Code Β§ 2071 - Concealment, removal, or mutilation generally

(a) Whoever willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, or destroys, or attempts to do so, or, with intent to do so takes and carries away any record, proceeding, map, book, paper, document, or other thing, filed or deposited with any clerk or officer of any court of the United States, or in any public office, ...

@georgetakei ... or with any judicial or public officer of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

(b) Whoever, having the custody of any such record, proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, ...

@georgetakei shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both; and >>>shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States<<<. As used in this subsection, the term β€œoffice” does not include the office held by any person as a retired officer of the Armed Forces of the United States.
@georgetakei It doesn't even matter that it's classified or not, though he should be prosecuted under the espionage act for that little detail.

@Susan_Larson_TN @georgetakei

Which is considerably less significant an offense than those around EO-prescribed classified documents (ask Reality Winner).

@ferricoxide @georgetakei which is why I said he should also be prosecuted under the espionage act.
@Susan_Larson_TN @ferricoxide @georgetakei They executed the Rosenbergs for less. If this country really does believe all men are created equal (under the law) well then…

@RodneyPetersonTalent @Susan_Larson_TN @georgetakei

Also during the era of the Red Scare – when the GOP wanted nothing to do with Russia, let alone accepting gifts and traveling to get to know people. Things change in over half a century's time.

@georgetakei

but but... my turmpobux ship is coming in any day now!!

ANY!
DAY!!
NOW!!!!

@georgetakei how this man has stayed out of prison this long is simply amazing

@georgetakei

He already sold a bunch of stuff to Russia and the Saudis....

@georgetakei What if Special Counsel Jack Smith is an AI-generated gaslight?

Think about it: have we ever really seen Smith, other than the "grim-reaper" photos? I mean...JACK SMITH? πŸ€”

At the very least, DOJ is guilty of driving America crazy. I'm so tired of the BS excuses I don't want Trump arrested now: I'm sick of hearing his name, much less years of trials.

@georgetakei

Remember how this started off an "oopsie", then went to "I'm president and everything I do is legal", and now we're at "gimme my secret stash"?

@georgetakei And you know he was telling everyone and showing everyone those documents. "Look, they gave me classified documents! Everybody says these are sooper top secret. See, they're even stamped 'Don't show to anyone.'"
@georgetakei
Unless the military I served in has dried up and blown away, Trump's handling of highly classified material should put him in a WORLD of hurt.
@georgetakei The Rosenbergs were executed for less. They may not have been guilty. Trump is.

@georgetakei

One of the very best things about Star Trek is the enabled voice of George Takei. πŸ™β€οΈπŸ™
