Slow morning on Twitter. Watching #TedLasso and thinking that #RoyKent is one of my favourite characters ever created for TV. So here’s a 🧵 of my favourites and the snarly softie kicks off. Some of the funniest scenes in Lasso revolve around Roy Kent. He’s here, he’s there…
This fall a new drama kicks off. #Elsbeth is another spin-off from The Good Wife, which is one of my favourite series of all time. Elsbeth Tascioni was quirky and brilliant and hilarious, and her appearances always made for great TV.
I must have a thing with quirky lawyers. One of the best examples of character development over the entire course of a series is Louis Litt in #Suits. The mudding scenes were next level.
Coming right back to #TheGoodWife, Kalinda Sharma was sexy and ballsy. Her scenes at a bar with Alicia were central to developing both characters.
Frank Gallagher from #Shameless is iconic. We’ve all met a Frank or two and Macy’s portrayal is brilliant.
Bonnie Plunkett from #Mom is delivered perfectly by Allison Janney. Her character delivers laugh out loud moments while developing serious themes.
I confess I have a think for Allison Janney, and her performance amongst a sea of powerful male characters as C.J. Cregg in #TheWestWing was excellent.
The entire cast of #SchittsCreek was fantastic, but the lines of Moira Rose made me laugh out loud.
While we’re on less than subtle characters, Dwight Shrute from #TheOffice might have been a little over the top at times, but he delivered a lot of memorable TV.
And while we’re on Rainn Wilson, his portrayal of Arthur Martin in #SixFeetUnder brought odd to a whole new level in what may have been the best series of all time.
I love a little British TV, and #LastTangoInHalifax tops the list. Nicole Walker’s delivery of Gillian was perfect. Awkward and hilarious and a bit of a mess. You’ll love her.
I loved all but one season of #OrangeIsTheNewBlack but I looked forward to every single scene with Tiffany Doggett. Her final scene was devastating.
I wanted Nora Walker to be my mother while watching #BrothersAndSisters. Sally Field was her brilliant self.
