@astrid photoshop on a staircase down to hell "fascism"
@astrid you post that like they aren't connected
@zekiz it's true, they definitely are. The cryptocurrency enthusiasts don't seem to care much for the cryptography tho :)

@astrid yeah most just interested about money and don't want and won't understand the underlying technology.

I only see two crypto currencies having a real purpose besides as a speculation medium: that one that is able to store and search thorugh json so you're basically being able to use it as a database and Monero which is actually used as a currency and relatively stable.

@zekiz yeah I think the original use for cryptocurrency is the probably the best use that we're ever gonna get out of it - cybercrime and exchanging goods in a black market.
@zekiz monero is just strictly better than Bitcoin for that application
@[email protected] where does cryptozoology go?
@mira @astrid if there was an answer it would just be zoology
@astrid The good old times when a person mentioning "crypto" just indicated they take interest in security, math or both.
@[email protected] Why not both? I'm still waiting for more applications of blind signature algorithms, a cute and weird cryptography technique invented in the 80s for digital cash but is rarely known or used (well, there's no point to do difficult original research when you can just make a quick buck from selling NFT paperwork... /s)
@astrid you can't see the one labelled "zoology" from this angle, it branches off into those trees near the middle

@astrid what if I told you you can have both?
