Reading about Scotland's DRS scheme in the news is even more confusing as an #F1 fan.
Not sure why glass bottles and cans need their drag reduced 😆
Nor why F1 teams get their deposits returned when they're within 1 second of the driver ahead.

Genuinely, totally do not understand what the problem with this system is...? Is there a real issue?
I visited Stockholm.loads several years ago and they had a full blown return scheme going on.
Closer to home, the Spar used to take the glass BARR bottles back and you'd get 20p back.
It confuses me what could possibly go wrong since we have and have had this system running before
@athairbirb as I understand it, the problem is a large part of our political/journo class who treat any divergence from rUK as unacceptable, seconded by a business community that would simply rather not.
If there is more valid criticism of it, it's been lost to me among the noise from the above.
