Let me (re)introduce myself! My name is Ionica. I am a professor of science communication in Leiden where I study and teach #SciComm.
I moved from social to mathstodon, looking for a smaller local community (and you have the best t-shirt). I did my PhD on number theory and most of the science communication I do is still related to mathematics.
My posts will be mostly in Dutch, but work-related things will be in English (hope that is okay)!

Would you be interested in writing about *problems* that can be caused by approaching Science mathematically...?
My go-to historical example is Phlogiston, but others arise in Aerodynamics, where weak & paradoxical assumptions have been 'propped up' with ever more complicated math.
My purpose in asking isn't to undermine mathematics as a tool; my claim is that the RIGHT concepts will 'unlock' even more powerful mathematical avenues
- just as the Copernican cosmos did...
