All of a sudden Scottish Power are texting me to say I need a new electric meter as mine's over 15yrs old...errmmm, it's considerably older than that as it's bakelite. They don't like/believe the readings I send in because I have solar and they're making it VERY difficult for me to sign up to take that into account because it wasn't them who installed the system. I'm not going to "apply online" thankyou very much. They can send someone round to check my readings, like they used to do once a yr.
@Judeet88 this is the first step to them wanting to install a 'remote readable meter'. The second step is them then moderating your supply. All wrapped up as a 'benefit' to you as you can 'manage your consumption'. :(
@Tresallier Yes, that's what I suspect...however, I have solar panels and so my readings since March have been exceptionally low and THEY have been charging me for THEIR estimate because they don't believe my figures. What concerns me is that they'll muck about with my solar system, which of course is linked to the electricity system in my house.
@Judeet88 i am sure they will 'balance' their supply to the network by 'managing' consumption.
