I’m officially broken from reading this story. Someone please help me understand. What are we doing?! Indiana reprimands doctor who spoke publicly about providing 10-year-old's abortion - NPR https://apple.news/AIxDzYTASSBiX20x4wgHwfA The doctor followed every rule. The plaintiff claims she was “furthering her own agenda”. The agenda of providing health care to rape victims? We cannot go on as a nation like this. Supreme Court make up has extinguished my hope for a better world. #CONservatives #religiouswrong
Indiana reprimands doctor who spoke publicly about providing 10-year-old's abortion — NPR

Caitlin Bernard, an Indiana OB-GYN, has been under scrutiny from her state's Republican attorney general since speaking out about the impact of the Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade.

@Stoneycase Yeah those are some made up BS charges solely for political purposes. Horrible and horrifying that they’re trying to make an example of a physician raising awareness of these barbaric abortion laws.
@Nolasox That’s my take as well. Gut punch. As a former midwestern resident, I cannot fathom this depravity.
@Stoneycase @Nolasox I hear both of you and your frustrations and despair. It's shitty. But maybe this reframing helps - this doctor is a Rosa Parks, and there's a lot more people like them making similar stands even if they're not making headlines. It sucks right now, but speaking out for what's right regardless of the consequences is what gets us change.
@wobs @Stoneycase 100%. Great point. The Indiana medical board thinks disciplining this physician will stop others from speaking out but what they’re actually doing is further publicizing their awful laws and actions.
@Nolasox @wobs Wobs I hear that and commend this doctor. It is the depravity and evil, that I cannot shake this morning. The victim of this story is a 10-year-old who was raped, and had to travel to a different state for an abortion. The doctor is a supporting character in this unspeakable tragedy. The good doctor is out $3000. The victim lost her childhood 😔. I know you all realize this. I just need to speak through it this morning. I picture my daughter at 10 and am crushed
