how do i professionally say "please do not ask me to pull a report that you can easily do yourself" like it's a report they can pull with 3 clicks on Looker....

@faithlierheimer

too nice: "something like this is pretty straightforward, are you able to walk through it together?"

feels condescending but is probably normal: "have you tried doing this in Looker? I think all the fields are there"

feels mean, but is probably normal: "you should be able to do this in Looker pretty quickly"

if you love bits/passive aggressive: send them the link to the unsaved explore and keep sharing that message with them via slack forward message

@zchetchavat hahahah i love the optionality here ty. I think the vibe is gonna be "can I walk you through it".
@faithlierheimer that's usually the one I go with, but sometimes you gotta protect your time and practice saying gentle nos

@zchetchavat @faithlierheimer sleeper pick: send them the report + a loom of how to do it.

"I wanted to show you how I made this so that you can do it yourself next time you need a similar dashboard. I thought it was intimidating at first, but it's super easy once you get used to it!"

bur you definitely shouldn't take my advice, seeing as I'm arrogant and smudge.
