The stock market is failing according to the CBI. So why don’t we just let it go?

The CBI is saying that the situation with regard to the UK stock exchange is getting desperate, because it is losing out to overseas markets and not attracting sufficient business. One party saying secure the highest sustained growth in the G7, the other to grow the economy - similar noises, similar pathways. Fundamentally, variations on trickle down economics. Where is the new political thinking? To enhance wellbeing and financial security - in the context of natural resource protection and climate change? Where is this debate on a political level?
