The Constitution allows you to have your Bible.

But your Bible is not our Constitution.

@AmishSuperModel Why is factual democracy so hard for some people?

It’s freedom from others telling you what religion to follow - not forcing any particular religious observance by the government.

@AmishSuperModel Sorry, my client Donald Trump tells me that both are book that repeat 26 symbols many times..... Boring...
@AmishSuperModel It is one of many ways of interpreting our lives. Not for me, although I grew up with it in Scotland. It was part of our curriculum.

@AmishSuperModel

The Bible is a set of ancient rules describing how to avoid being burned alive for eternity by an angry, petulant god.

The Constitution is a lens for looking forward, and a tool for protecting freedom as society evolves and expands.

They are, at their cores, opposites, which is why their separation is so critical.

@AmishSuperModel
Or as a smart person who I wish I could credit said, "You swear on the Bible to uphold the Constitution. Not the other way around."

@AmishSuperModel

The Constitution gives us freedom of religion, it also gives us freedom from religion.

@AmishSuperModel
For the people claiming their Bible is the Constitution. Their faith is just a cover to justify their crimes. Their real goal is money and power.
