First toot! 😀

Carpet flip animation of Edinburgh DEM. Used #qgis to export the DEM, Blender #b3d to render.

I use a gradient texture which slides along the x axis, piped through a Float Map.

I'd be interested to hear any feedback on how the video looks. I've always aimed to get videos small enough to fit on a floppy (1.5Mb or less)

@stevefaeembra This looks amazing! Whenever that dataset gets updated, if any buildings are deleted, it would be great to see them fly off into space!

@stevefaeembra looks great! This is a great idea.

Feedback: I would try orienting the flip animation axis not exactly at 0° on the X axis, but a bit of an angle, and similarly, I’d try orbiting the camera angle to track just slightly around the subject as the animation plays to give it a little off axis realism. Could also play with animating focal length a bit

@stevefaeembra PS I love the self imposed floppy-size limitation on files. I do the same thing and everyone younger than me treats me like I’m insane lol
@jm3
Thanks! I don't feel as daft now! One of the problems I had with Twitter was I'd craft a tiny looping GIF, which got bloated into an MP4 which doesn't loop seamlessly...
