A ★★★ review of Doctor Mordrid (1992)
Apparently this was gonna be an actual Doctor Strange film (around the same as Albert Pyun's underrated but cheap Captain America, Dolph Lundgren's awful Punisher, and the unreleased Fantastic Four) but the rights expired. Doctor Mordrid (Jeffrey Combs, RE-ANIMATOR) is a centuries old extradimensional sorcerer. Mordrid's archenemy Kabal (Brian Thompson, COBRA) has escaped and plans to takeover Earth. Yvette Nipar is Mordrid's tenant/neighbor who just happens to be the police department's expert in occult crimes. With Julie Michaels as one of Kabal's loyal human followers. It's better than than the official (and even cheaper looking) 1978 Doctor Strange movie. Combs
