How L.A. Spared No Expense to Protect Bus Stops From the Sun and Ended Up With … This?

“La Sombrita” was greeted with instant backlash. No kidding!

@foxandcity Okay, but Providence is building bus shelter for a fully-laden cost of $20,000 apiece, not $52,000 - and East Coast costs aren't any lower than California costs. The only reason these different silos exist in LA is not that LA is special but that this is set up as a big project and so all the petty actors who normally wouldn't even notice suddenly have opinions.
