After a few low level 2- and 3- day treks, Moray and I decided it was time to up our game and do some hills.

A 2-day high level walk picking up the four #Ardverikie #Munros which form the ridge to the north of #BenAlder. I've done them as a fairly straightforward single (long) day walk before, usually from #Culra bothy, but took the opportunity for a more relaxed 2 day outing with a high level camp. And our first Munro of the year (eventually!).

@Outinthehills hi Tim.. hope all is well and you have fully recovered from the birthday celebrations.. i am looking at doing your walk here but coming in from Glen Spean and doing it over a long day, i am pretty sure i saw over the last few years that you had done it this way also.. looking for any tips or things to avoid , anything really would be mucho appreciated..

@Spacemouse77 hi Robin, all good here thanks. Yes that was my route last week, map attached. Obviously doing it in one day you wouldn't drop down into the coire between Càrn Dearg & Geal Chàrn.

The ridge between those two can be tricky to find in mist coming off Geal Chàrn, so going E-W is easier in those conditions.

The only other thing when I did these in a single day I think I went both in and out on the track to the W of Beinn a'Chlachair, so avoiding the climb over its E shoulder.

Enjoy!

@Outinthehills thank you Tim.. should be a good outing and great to have those tips , i had thought about in and out on the same track but hadnt realised about about how easy it would be to miss the ridge in cloud so thats good to know.. havent got a date in mind for it but its in the pipework .. cheers again
