So they're filming for the Netflix series Eric outside my house on Wayne St #JerseyCity

We had to move all our cars so they could park all their equipment and cars.

I got to see Benedict Cumberbatch run by my window last night, which was neat.

But it irks me that they're also able to keep me from returning my house if they're filming. Like, they didn't okay any of this with me. I'm not getting compensated. If I leave my house and return when they're filming, I have to wait at the corner.

@Magess Just seeing this now. Downtown JC has a film shoot problem. There are three shows being shot downtown this month, and the shoots are running into each other and squeezing residents around. A few days ago, Winston and Walking Dead were scheduled to film on back-to-back days, until Walking Dead pulled out (no way Winston would have vacated in time, I guess).

Someone in the mayor's office has gone film-permit happy.

@ColesStreetPothole yeah, we need some standards of they're going to do this all the time. Being told I can't go to my house because they're filming when I am getting nothing for it does not seem great. Taking up our parking without giving us free parking elsewhere is also not great

@Magess If you read the fine print on the location team's signs, they often will have alternate parking information, like at the mall, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN IT'S NOT HORRIBLY INCONVENIENT. Walking Dead was all set up to give us $250 inconvenience fee per household where the filming was going to take place (and thus restrict access) but they pulled out.

BTW, this was one of the reasons I left Manhattan—my block had constant film shoots going on.

@ColesStreetPothole yeah, I've seen them say that you can park at the marina but if you go to the marina they have no idea what you're talking about. Twice that's happened to me.
