Then he quotes Donald Trump's ACTUAL WORDS calling for Republicans to push the US over the default cliff. Though, as he notes, when Trump was in the White House, he said the debt ceiling shouldn't be used as a negotiating wedge.
@wdlindsy My take is this is win-win for the multi-billionaire oligarchy staking the GOP debt crisis.
If the Dems cave, the oligarchy advances its goal to punish the poor and degrade the federal government.
If the USA defaults, prices will collapse on trillions of dollars worth of public and private assets that the oligarchs can then buy for a song, further tightening their control over the global economy.
Win-win for the rich is lose-lose for the world.
