A 15 minute city is a threat to lots of companies. If we could reduce private car usage by 50%+ in cities, this will effect, Oil Companies, car companies, tyre manufacturers, car repair and accessories, etc. Lots of Vested Interests who have spent 100 years and billions of $s in promoting private vehicle ownership will loose out.
So they are following a well trodden playbook.
Tie into peoples legitimate concerns about the world going to pieces by creating a big fat lie. Lie about the problem, the cause, the results, and whip people into a frenzy.
