Why is GOP going after debt ceiling under Biden after voting to raise it 3X under Trump?

Because they can’t go after:
•billionaire tax cuts—as small biz struggle
•80% ⬆️ corp profits—as workers starve
•inflation—as its dropped 10 mo straight

So as usual—GOP chooses hypocrisy

@QasimRashid It's all a cruel and dangerous game to benefit the wealthy at the expense of the poor and tie it all to Biden. R's had ample opportunity to enact harsh austerity in Trump's first two years. They didn't because they know it's unpopular and hurts the overall economy.
@QasimRashid
The Debt Ceiling is designed to cause chaos on command. Specifically, in practice, Republican legislators' demand. It has no legitimate purpose beyond this.
@QasimRashid
They agreed to pay money when they set the budget. They don't get to change their mind after.

@QasimRashid

The hashtag for that, btw, is #GOPHypocrisy.

They also don't want to talk about guns slaughtering innocent people, so they keep harping at their #FoxNews voter base about #CultureWars and #DragShows -- distract, distract, distract.

@QasimRashid

Democrats “and all reasonable Republicans should kindly call the MAGA conservatives’ bluff. Simply ignore the 1917 vintage debt ceiling, which is now null and void, and abide by the 1974 budget law. You will be vindicating our Constitution and preserving our constitutional republic in so doing.”

Biden can, and should, ignore the GOP’s debt suicide attempt

Simply ignore the 1917 vintage “debt ceiling,” which is now null and void, and abide by the 1974 budget law.

@QasimRashid The fact that a default would attack capital is the biggest reason to believe this fight is not about whether to raise the debt ceiling, just who should get blame for it.
@QasimRashid Because they couldn't get what they wanted the old-fashioned way, so they're taking hostages. If this thing were hurting corporations and stockholders, they'd do something different...

@QasimRashid it's really simple to understand if you know the motivation. It's power. Only power. If you caim you that this event is going to happen(don't tell them you caused it) and the event happens, that gives you credibility. Now use the credibility to claim you are the only one to fix it but those people are in my way. That is the way to solidify power.

If you know this then listen to GOP speaking, like a town hall, you will recognise this.

@QasimRashid It's not hypocrisy. Republican actions perfectly match their beliefs. No, it's not hypocrisy. Rather, it's sociopathy. Republicans are sociopaths.
