I got #tenure (official today) and promptly horrified a bunch of students by observing that it only took (counting from the start of grad school) 17 years

(Once I saw how appalled they were, I made it a chant: “tenure under 20! Tenure under 20!” In my household we believe in chants for all occasions.)
