If you can't choose whether to become a mom, with all its risks, #MothersDay is a cruel joke.

States enacting abortion restrictions increased their maternal mortality rate by 38%.

States with the toughest abortion laws have the weakest maternal supports.

Two of the women in the Turnaway Study DIED from giving birth after they were denied abortions.

@chargrille i wouldn’t want a loved one to risk their life getting pregnant in a red state.
@richservo @chargrille they will experience people who have the means to, leaving, including OB/Gyn doctors. Those that can’t leave will be forced to have children they may not want or cannot provide for and therefore forcing them to seek assistance which Republicans want to make even harder to get all the while going after birth control next (at least I can see that coming). This while cutting child income tax credit, meals for school children and child care assistance. What a hellscape they’re creating for women and children.
@jag0325 @chargrille unwanted children is one problem. But this is about women who experience pregnancy complications and die because doctors aren’t allowed to terminate, even when the mothers life is in danger. So much for “pro-life”.
@richservo @chargrille yep, and like I said doctors will flee those states because they’re afraid of the laws making it even worse. Awful
