So I'm on a Telescope Allocation Committee, meaning I'm part of a group that reads proposals for telescope time and decides who gets to use the telescopes. This is my first time doing this and I'm having more fun than I expected reading through the proposals! Especially the ones from areas of astronomy I know nothing about.

I'm still a bit anxious that my grades will be wildly different from the others on the committee but given that this is my first time that's probably to be expected 😅

@astronomerritt This is so cool and absolutely fascinating! ✨🔭
@astronomerritt I love being on TACs! It’s so interesting to see what others are doing, and it’s a great way to meet other folks in the field. I also always worry about my grades being off, but things always get averaged and there’s usually a chance to rebalance at the end. I hope it’s a good experience for you!
@ashpags Thank you! It's been fun so far but quite intimidating! The chair has reassured me that everyone gets a chance to change their grades during the panel meeting and it's normal for them to change quite a lot.
