Wow the United Nations released a report on the toxic effects of the gender critical movement in the UK and not a single media outlet reported on it, it's almost as if the country doesn't actually have a free press
@julieofthespirits I signed up to go to the press conference and they cancelled it and then never got back in touch about it being rescheduled. So in part, the UN also colluded to bury this report.

@bbhorne @julieofthespirits I think "burying" is perhaps an overreaction here. This is an end of mission statement it is not the report itself. Its like a "here's what we made note of".

> The final report on the visit will be presented to the United Nations Human Rights Council by latest in June 2024, after a process of dialogue with the State.

The ACTUAL report due next year will go into greater depth on the findings, statistical analysis, recommendations, best practices etc.

@bbhorne @julieofthespirits Not saying that the lack of media coverage isn't discouraging, but this would be like reporting on "scientists think they discover cause of disease but still have a lot of graphs to plot and reports to write to be sure".

The takeaway in the closing paragraph are perhaps most immediately poignant: it still sucks to be LGBT in the UK/GB/NI and those who ARE are pretty brave.

@bbhorne @julieofthespirits But I don't think anyone needs a new report to know that this is the case.
