Regardless of what you think of #DaveChappelle, I think he's doing a good thing for the town of #YellowSprings near where I grew up. As Chappelle’s comedy made him a controversial figure nationally, some of his neighbors in his Ohio hometown have been getting mad, too.

It seems like if it wasn't for Dave Chappelle heavily investing in the town and having influence in keeping it how it is, the town would build new developments around town and it would quickly end up looking like nearby Sugarcreek Township. Chappelle's money is keeping the town the way it is rather than lose its sense of self.
If there is one thing I've hated about the area where I grew up, is everyone there has no idea of when they have a good thing and what that good thing actually is. Yellow Springs is the last hold out and if they think opening the town up to development is the right answer, then it's just going to get watered down and become extremely conservative like all the other neighborhoods that were similar in the area.
