After more than 20 years of doing creative work on the Mac it has finally hit me that the productivity thing i would *kill for* is to have an "Open Windows" section in every save dialogue.

@helvetica I used to hit the key-command for "Fresh" and drag a file from one of those folders into the main part of the dialogue to switch the main folder

@helvetica While I see your point, I mostly just drag the/a file form that open window into that dialog, and it jumps to that window anyways (and also selects that file as well).
@helvetica Mark me down as another vote for Default Folder X. When a dialog box is open, just hover over any Finder window (even ones hidden behind the dialog or other windows) and click. Or you can use the DFX menu it adds to the window but that's less fun.
In case you didn't know this — you can drag files into these dialogs to have them selected. You can drag them form finder, but also from those tiny proxy icons in title bars of native apps. Takes all of 2 seconds after you get used to it!
