when I say I wake up in stages, I mean like this

#Caturday

@ElleGray #Caturday is in 18 hours.
@kkarhan @ElleGray might be awake by then 😹
@kkarhan I am not a cat, so I can do posts anytime 🙂
@ElleGray @kkarhan @patterfloof on the internet, no one knows if you are a cat...
@ElleGray Rarely do you get the full picture of a stiff neck after sleep, that must be the primary cause.
@ElleGray the ones that i can see look like good picks, what else is on that stack of books 😉?
@ElleGray: "You can go and do the up-woken stuff, I'll sleep in on your behalf. "
@ElleGray  lovely! 😻
@stux ❤️ thank you for all your hard work stux. I love mstdn.social
@ElleGray Adorable ! Love the books ! 👍🏻👍🏻
@ElleGray I also wake up in stages (denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance)
@ElleGray that's too many books /lighthearted
@ElleGray
Arbitrary Stupid Goal is such an excellent book. I miss Kenny Shopsin so much sometimes.
@ElleGray This is the most precious thing ever! What a great photo!

I love this picture!

I’m certain the brain has evolved to wake up only as much as it needs to, which is why you can wake up, have a wee and go back to a deep sleep. I definitely have gears in the morning.

I’m wondering if ADD/ADHD is not a disorder but an evolutionary brain type selected for creativity. It effectively doesn’t fully wake up, allowing significant invention and why the use of stimulants can pull it to the ‘wake up pattern’ preferred by our current society. It also would explain insomnia as ADHD peeps half sleep through the day. It’s also a scale and most people use tea or coffee to help with mornings. Was Leonardo Da Vinci this brain type? He was a genius who couldn’t finish anything.

Honestly, I have no science on this but my pattern recognition brain and my understanding of evolution points to this being correct. People’s actual lived experience is everything so please tell me if I’m full of 💩.

@ElleGray the cat is amazing, but also... let's discuss that wonderful stack of books by the bedside! the world needs more of that too!
@ElleGray am I the only one worrying about how precarious the top half of that pile of books looks? 😬🫣
@ElleGray are you not scared of the books falling on you while you sleep?
@ElleGray That's how I felt after carrying around THE POWER BROKER last week (taking part in the 99pi book club.)
@ElleGray that is one stack of books
