I love this picture!
I’m certain the brain has evolved to wake up only as much as it needs to, which is why you can wake up, have a wee and go back to a deep sleep. I definitely have gears in the morning.
I’m wondering if ADD/ADHD is not a disorder but an evolutionary brain type selected for creativity. It effectively doesn’t fully wake up, allowing significant invention and why the use of stimulants can pull it to the ‘wake up pattern’ preferred by our current society. It also would explain insomnia as ADHD peeps half sleep through the day. It’s also a scale and most people use tea or coffee to help with mornings. Was Leonardo Da Vinci this brain type? He was a genius who couldn’t finish anything.
Honestly, I have no science on this but my pattern recognition brain and my understanding of evolution points to this being correct. People’s actual lived experience is everything so please tell me if I’m full of 💩.
