I was unhappy with how long the image stacking apps were taking last night, given that I need to extract all the frames to separate files, import them, etc. 27,000 frames for 30 minutes of video was untenable. I'll need Terabytes of disk space to process one full night
So I asked #ChatGPT to write me some Python to do the same thing directly from the mp4 file. Holy shit it worked and it's really really fast. Here's the first results, another 30 min video turned into star trails, or plane trails.
