Have we reached a point where new innovative experiences have been exhausted?

We've certainly reached a point where nearly all mainstream releases fit into one of a few established formulas, and even many Indie games just swap aesthetic coats of paint.

Personally, I feel fatigue.

Its not all bad though, some recent games that reignited some passion for the hobby: Pentiment, Hi Fi Rush, Persona 5 Royal.
