I feel like I am a fool for not noticing this when I was younger, but it always seems that every time a white queer person puts on a front of being a "wholesome innocent" person its always a veil for their shallow core of being selfish fuckers who will gladly utilize hierarchies for their own end.

Like at the core they are no different from chuds. Their main difference is that they just want a nicer version of this settler colonial society with the hierarchies still intact.

I definitely think though that a ton of white "radical" queers are deep down reformist. Like they might be against capitalism and the most brutal expressions of white supremacy but they are not actually against anti-Blackness as a whole or anti-Indigeneity and other forms of racism. This is in spite of how anti-Blackness and anti-Indigeneity in particular are crucial for the maintenance of the united states society and as a result how capitalism functions worldwide.
These "radical" white queers might be down for seizing or destroying the means of production, may be even down for communizing space. However, they are unwilling to directly attack white supremacy as a whole in these "revolutionary" communes, unwilling to treat in particular anti-Blackness and anti-Indigeneity as core hierarchies to go after beyond symbolic statements. These communes as a result end up just become another settler colonial project.
I think this refusal is partly why these "radicals" do not try to attack the western gender system. Like they accept its imposed standard of gender expansivity being primarily just changing form from proximity to one cis gender to another, and a category for those that don't fit. There is not real analysis on why these cis-genders in particular are imposed as the hegemonic gendered expression, even dominating gendered expansivity, nor is there often a desire to break it.

To some up my points:

Most white "radical" queers are reformists who would not actually side with a revolution that meaningfully tried to destroy the foundation of society, such as a Haitian revolution situation.

They might want a socialist society that reforms the western gender system to be kinder to some expressions of gender expansivity, and a nicer white supremacy, but they don't want to break these social relationships altogether.

@decommodifylife It's not just in queer, or indeed American spaces.

A lot of white people elsewhere think that if only the economic system is changed to what they want, racism will be solved automatically - without understanding anything about structural racism.

@decommodifylife not really limited to queers but it is pervasive with white people--- the modern sense of politeness & civility grew out of both feudalism & white enslaving cultures where failing to be obsequious to one's social superiors meant torture or death

It's why white people are so hateful about gossip--it was used for centuries by slaves to subvert slaver authority, in the same way whisper networks do with abusers

Anyone who presents too much of a "look how friendly and *nice* I am" persona is immediately suspect imo because their entire reputation hinges on them always being perceived as being unimpeachable & anything can (and eventually will) threaten that which must then be squashed, usually by sycophants or social rules
