@TheConversationUS It may not be illegal, but there are ethics standards and he could be impeached by his peers...problem is the "R" party is so worried about losing seats that they'll let just about anything slide right now.

@TheConversationUS 👆 You know why it isn't illegal for politicians to lie? Because in laying down democracy, it was expected that A. people would participate in good faith, *especially* on the politician side, and B. that if they did lie, the public would catch them at it and punish them, either at the ballot box or by demanding their immediate resignation or dismissal.

You know how the public's supposed to know? The fucking press!! That's why it's nicknamed The 4th Estate!...
