CNN Is Hosting a Town Hall for a Guy Who Tried to Get Me Killed

Trump's lies and political rhetoric sparked an uprising at our nation’s capital. So why is CNN hosting a town hall for him?

Rolling Stone
@noahshachtman what's epically ironic about this that trump appears to be correct about CNN after all this time of us defending that shit network.
@noahshachtman To answer the question he posts: It's money... it's always money 🤑

@noahshachtman @threatresearch I think the problem is, if only his supporter see him on Fox then he won’t be challenged.

I would hope this time channels like CNN will be better prepared and can push him harder. America need the sensible republican voters to see him in his true light and either vote democrat or not vote (I don’t like it when people don’t use their vote). Too many US voters seem to vote for their candidate regardless of compitance. He needs to be stopped in the primaries.

@bazcurtis @noahshachtman Nobody needs to give this guy any airtime or try to normalize him as a regular candidate. But CNN has gone through management changes and isn't the same company it was.

He doesn't need to be pushed harder. He needs to be marginalized and treated like the habitual liar whose lies (and the work of several coup plotters) instigated a nearly-successful coup d'etat, and caused the deaths of several law enforcement officers who tried valiantly to defend elected representatives from a mob he riled up and aimed at congress. Nothing else matters.

@threatresearch @noahshachtman I agree totally with that you say. When people try and marginalise politicians it doesn’t seem to end well and they seem to gain energy.

I still don’t understand how so many voters still think he is a good idea. Surely they’re enough sensible people to vote against him.

It is scary.

@noahshachtman

GOP billionaire donors are squabbling about which future figurehead to fund.

DeSantis is a dud. Trump still gets the gun nut Qrazie evangelical vote though.

They are funding CNN's attempt at a Trump reputation rehab to justify switching to a more viable candidate.

Youngkin is being funded to be a sleeper candidate for a bait-and-switch at the primaries.

He's demonstrated that ability to lie to Hispanic & Asian voters about education to get elected.

Ex-DeSantis donor cuts big check for Youngkin

Billionaire GOP donor Thomas Peterffy on Thursday wired a $1 million check to Youngkin’s political action committee.

POLITICO
@noahshachtman They know it will have ratings, ratings means money and they want that money regardless of the ethics.
@earwigplanet Who is going to watch that garbage? Not me...
@noahshachtman Great article. It's astonishing to me that the US has become so blase about losing their democracy.
@noahshachtman … CNN is giving trump a free rally… are they trying to replace fox…
@noahshachtman
So Fanone quit as a cnn contributor then, right?
@noahshachtman
[Excerpt:] "To me, allowing Trump an open forum on a major television news network is the moral equivalent of putting an AR-15 in the hands of someone mentally unstable. Whether words or bullets — and I have seen firsthand the effects of both — they are equally dangerous in the mouths or hands of those who have shown us time and time again what their true intentions are."
@noahshachtman @andrewdwilliams It’s important to recognize that CNN is trying to rehabilitate their own image with the Trump audience.
@sgraffito @noahshachtman I call it ingratiating yourself to fascists, but potato patawto.
