The Supreme Court’s Heller decision came down in June 2008.

Written by Antonin Scalia, the ruling held that the Second Amendment guaranteed an individual right to own firearms.

It has been used to gut efforts at gun control since.

@walkerbragman However, it has a flaw in its reasoning. Scalia cited the rights-to-bear arms possessed by Englishmen as the reason to oppose gun control. But everyone knows England has some of the most strict gun regulations on the planet...
@walkerbragman …..so, this ruling rather than Roe should have been reversed….I think is what you’re saying….if I may be so bold.
@walkerbragman
One of the worst SCOTUS decision of recent times
@walkerbragman As so ruled:a guaranteed right “WITHIN THE HOME” and, importantly, SUBJECT TO REASONABLE RESTRICTIONS OUTSIDE THE HOUSE, and very importantly, “NOT A LIMITLESS RIGHT.” But those points are downplayed on the right, forgotten on the left and unknown to the center because of silence by the media.
@walkerbragman @claraeroberts it will not get over until the people who make these decisions are directly affected. Human nature. We can start by voting as many people out as we can in 2024
