as a former kid who did that in the age of incandescent bulbs and low-capacity NiCads I have to say there was a time when keeping enough batteries charged was so, so much harder.
@llewelly @mcnees I had a plastic fireman’s hat with a red flashing light on top. I would take the red lense off and read until the bulb warmed up enough to flash. Then I unscrewed it, let it cool and screwed it back in again. The reading periods got progressively shorter as the thing got hotter! You flashlight kids had it easy! 😆
