@ThompsonArt I'm trying to parse the Tomos part. Titw = tit, Las = blue, so what's Tomos?

@GwenfarsGarden Thank you! That's some good translating! Tomos is the Welsh version of Thomas or Tom and a colloquial name for the blue tit is Tom Titmouse which is where I assume the Tomos came from :)

I didn't know that about a Blue Tit being called Tom or Thomas. I never came across that when I lived in England, so is it more a Welsh thing?

I believe the Welsh name is just a modern translation of the old English name, with Tom just being a popular nickname from the past (like Jack). The Tomtit name is used for several bird species so I assume the blue tit became more popular to distinguish them, but the old name still lives on through Welsh.
Dr. Flowers@ThompsonArt @KayJanes Are you sure that’s Welsh? Cause there are an equal number of vowels and consonants there, and Welsh usually has, well, mostly consonants.

@ThompsonArt You must admit, though, it’s a bit unusual.
@AlliFlowers It might seem that way from an outside perspective but not to me. I think Welsh is perceived as having a lot of consonants because W and Y are vowels in Welsh.
@ThompsonArt I don’t speak a word of it. Wales was my father’s favorite place in the world. He visited a lot, and had many friends there.
@AlliFlowers It is a beautiful country, your father had good taste! The language itself is really hard to pick up, even my Welsh is far from perfect and I've been speaking it my entire life.

@fforiwr They're so fun to draw! I'm afraid I haven't been able to find an on demand service based in the UK and I don't have the space to print them myself, but I'm currently looking to move and hopefully when I do I can start selling them myself 😊
