@SnerkRabbledauber @RadicalGraffiti They’re not, but there seems to be a historical trend of countries who ditch their monarchy suddenly descending into chaos. Germany and Russia for example. I’m not a devoted royalist, but the royal successions are a constant and a sign of the country’s stability. In this day and age that’s something I’m reasonably happy about.
I see. But in the US we ditched ours and only now are descending in to chaos.Since there was some 200 years in between. I doubt there is any connection.

Fausto@RadicalGraffiti Brazil (where I’m from) and the US (where I live now) have no monarchy. And they don’t seem one bit better than the UK.
I’m not trying to justify the royal expenses, because I agree they’re ridiculous, but I encourage you to study, discuss and make sure that anything you do is for the better.
Otherwise you’ll risk putting a lot of effort on a massive change that in the end will improve nothing or make things worse (Russia).
Be pragmatic and reduce that bill instead.
