I hate when students cheat or plagiarize. Mostly because it means a ton of administrative work on my end plus at least one incredibly awkward conversation with the student.

I want to help you learn! I don’t want to give you arbitrary punishments decreed by the university. Please help me not have to do that :(

@tiffanycli I just had to report my first one ever. It was a copy of a previous year's submission. One that I also was in charge of grading. They even left the year and original name in the code.

@tiffanycli the home works here don't even count for the final grade (outside of a trivial amount of extra credit if you do really well). You only need to get at least 50% to be allowed to take the final.

I'm frustrated, disappointed and above all just confused
